An archaic electrical system at the Women’s Community Centre (formerly known as the ‘Girls Training Centre’ or ‘GTC’) is in desperate need of updating, rewiring and consideration of safety measures. The re-wiring works for the entire campus will ensure safety for the young women living in the campus hostel. A licensed electrician must be hired to survey the premise, testing for any potential power leakages and issues that surround safety. The rewiring will ensure that all standards will meet required safety measures. The Campus has two young women’s hostels, a small tailoring production unit - which is part of IIDA’s sustainability initiative as well as tailoring courses and a planned new Beautician Training course.
