The Skills Academy aims to provide underprivileged individuals with essential skills for quick entry into the job market. Our mission is to supplement existing education systems and help youth secure livelihoods through their talents.
The vision of our IIDA Skills Academy is to fulfill the ever-growing need for job-oriented, work-related, skill-based, and holistic education for those who can’t access it on their own. We reach the unreached and underprivileged by imparting skills, knowledge, life-coping skills (personality development), computer literacy, spoken English, written English, and communication skills.

Our Girls Training Center in Aminjikarai and Boys Industrial Training School in Pallavaram (both Chennai) offer Hostel facilities for a small percentage of our students who need boarding. We provide a safe environment for the young women and men to study, develop their personality, enjoy and learn to cope with life’s challenges.
Our experienced staff make sure that there is space for emotional development, personal guidance, love and concern for the many individual challenges which teens are facing these days. And then – of course there is fun and friendship too, as they live, study and occasionally do some practical work together.
Our Thideer Nagar Day Care Center has been a support to thousands of children. We have been serving hundreds of families over the years – and still care for children aged between 2-5 years. From children to daily wage migrant labourers, everyone has seen the light of the day and a bright future with IIDA’s Child Care Center in Chennai.
